Helpful Hardware Man

By Jannet Walsh

I had the chance to meet and photograph Lou Manfredini, of Chicago, the Helpful Hardware Man on TV, helping out at the Dunnellon Little League Fields, in Dunnellon, Florida. I invited him to do repairs at my house, but was too busy with the ball fields!

Staff Sergeant Dennis Geyer, right, a flight engineer with the Florida Army National Guard, stands near the open aft or rear door of a CH-47 Chinook helicopter. Lieutenant Colonel Ron Tittle, seated left, photographed from the rear of the helicopter of the sod farm.

The exercises were postponed due to the rain for the Florida National Guard’s Company A., 3rd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group, based in Ocala. Airborne exercises for soldiers were scheduled to include parachute jumping from a CH-47 Chinook helicopter at the Jones Turf Grass Farm, on Highway 315, Fort McCoy. According to Lieutenant Colonel Ron Tittle, Director of Public Affairs with the Florida Army/Air National Guard, the exercise will be rescheduled in the near future for soldiers, Saturday afternoon, July 12, 2008, Fort McCoy, Florida. Listen to local citizens talk about their liberties in the United States. Norman Lee, Belleview, Florida and The Boondock Saints play on the Downtown Square.
