My photo above from the horrible crash in Ocala, Florida in early 2008 went around the world. Five young men lost their lives in a car crash at an airstrip John Travolta and others use. Click here to see how a daily newspaper used this photo in Oslo, Norway.

Here is the photo I took of Diocese of Orlando Bishop Thomas Wenski at Our Lady of the Springs Parish, Ocala, in Florida, on Aug. 31, 2006. It was the funeral Mass for the father of the Rev. Ronald E. Oser, parochial vicar at the time I made this photograph.


In 2005, I made a similar photo of the Rev. Marek Pytko, a visiting priest from Lubin, Poland and Professor of social communication and journalism, Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. This is the same college the late Pope John Paul II taught at earlier in his career.

I just found out today I won two awards from the Florida Press Club Excellence in Journalism Contest 2008 Class B. The two awards include First Place Pictorial and Third Place General News Photography. I am not sure which photos won at this time, but believe the above photo was my pictorial entry.
