I plan to post videos and comments from Journalism That Matters - Adapting Journalism to the New News Ecology at the Poynter Institute, St. Petersburg, Florida, March 1 to 4, 2009.

I will be using my new little video camera, a Canon PowerShot SD790 IS, similiar to the the one I learned about on Mindy McAdams's blog. The video above was shot with the palm sized camera. Why the little camera? I don't have a video camera and the money. (Read why here on my blog.)

The other reason I am doing this is to see what great things can be done with little money. Sports Illustrated photographers did this with Mexican wrestlers, why not the newsroom ecology!

I was recently interviewed by Jackie Hai, a senior at UMass Amherst, while we were both in St. Petersburg, Florida at the Poynter Institute. It's a place where journalists gather from around the world to learn the newest methods of reporting and the changing world of journalism. Watch the videos and learn!

New Blog for Search and Recovery!

By Jannet Walsh

I have started a new blog for Search and Recovery after losing a job. Maybe you know someone that has lost a job or maybe you will soon.

Your friends and family at this time are sharing in your employment death because they care so much for you. They will be suffering along side of you in their own way. This is the time to enlist their support, network connections and prayers.
